Dublin City Council - a world record

In Sept 2013, Dublin City Council used Borda Count voting procedure, twice - once in committee to produce a short list and once in plenary to make the final decision - so to name the new bridge over the Liffey in honour of Rosie Hackett. See the report: Dublin City Council's Rosie Hackett Bridge: A landmark in Decision-Making, 2014, by Prof. John Baker.
Borda methodologies are sometimes used in elections but, as far as is known, this is the first time a democratically elected chamber has used one in decision-making.
